How Camps Work

A field model built for remote villages and hard-to-reach patients.

The healthcare initiative is planned around local need, distance from care, trusted partnerships, and continuity after the camp day.

01 Assessment

Needs-led site selection

Ground surveys identify villages with major healthcare gaps, especially communities where facilities can be 20+ kilometres away.

02 Mobilisation

Local trust before camp day

Village leaders, volunteers, local partners, and administration help mobilise families, build confidence, and support smooth delivery.

03 Service Delivery

Free care from consultation to medicine

Doctors provide consultations, basic diagnostics, women's health support, health education, referrals, and 100% free prescribed medicines.

04 Follow-Up

Care continues after the visit

Critical cases receive follow-up calls, prescription guidance, referral support, and links to ongoing treatment where needed.

Impact Timeline

Documented medical camps, relief and awareness interventions.

The timeline lists the documented camp record from the healthcare report. Along with menstrual health, oral hygiene, awareness sessions, financial assistance, and ongoing care, the wider healthcare reach crosses 22,000+ lives.

Future Funding Opportunity

Charitable dialysis access closer to Magam's villages.

The report identifies a major gap for dialysis patients around Magam Sub-District. Families from surrounding villages often travel long distances to Srinagar or Baramulla for repeated treatment, adding transport costs, fatigue, and treatment delays.

Proposed Charitable Dialysis Center, Magam

Better Hope NGO has completed preliminary surveys and patient interviews, and is engaging medical professionals for technical guidance. The goal is affordable, consistent dialysis access near the people who need it most.

Service Gap 27 villages
Current Travel Burden 50+ km
Funding Need Dialysis access

Healthcare Activities

A complete circle of care, from village camps to critical treatment.

Better Hope NGO's healthcare initiative combines field delivery, financial aid, awareness, disability inclusion, and rapid response so vulnerable families receive support at the point where the need is most urgent.

Medical Camps & Medicines

Free camps bring doctors, consultations, diagnostics, and medicines directly to villages where distance and cost often prevent timely care. Patients receive prescribed medicines without payment, along with basic screenings and referral guidance when further care is needed.

Financial Assistance

The initiative supports hospital bills, surgeries, dialysis, diagnostics, ongoing treatment, and patient transport for extremely needy people facing serious medical hardship. More than 85 patients and families have received critical financial aid so treatment does not stop because of cost.

Women, Children & Awareness

Menstrual health sessions, hygiene kit distribution, gynecologist consultations, oral health awareness for children, nutrition guidance, and counselling-oriented support have reached 2,900+ women, children, and awareness-session participants.

Disability Support

Wheelchairs, hearing aids, mobility assistance, specialist consultation, and focused camps help persons with disabilities access dignity, movement, and essential medical attention.

Disaster Relief Medical Response

During floods and emergencies, the team mobilises rapid medical camps, medicine distribution, hygiene support, referral assistance, and relief coordination for affected families.

Continuity of Care

Follow-up calls, prescription guidance, chronic care support, and careful documentation help the work continue after the field visit, making each camp part of a longer healthcare pathway.

Credibility & Partnerships

Built on registration, accountability, and long-term collaboration.

For CSR funders and donors, the healthcare work is backed by statutory registrations, multi-year partnerships, and field implementation partners who expand reach in difficult geographies.
