Habag Tangoo Medical Camp

  • Better Hope NGO organized third medical camp at Public Park, Habag Tangoo Village, Jammu & Kashmir on May 7th and 8th 2022. The camp was spread over two days and was held from 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. Total footfall for the two days camp: 1250 attendees & 795 menstrual hygiene kits distributed. ( Habag Tangoo is a village in the district of Pattan, the people here are from very marginalised sections and are mostly associated with agriculture and daily labour. The people in this area have little to no access to education due to which they struggle to make a living. Due to lack of access to medical facilities, they also fall under a priority to receive medical assistance.

The expected footfall by the organisers was estimated to be 700 collectively on both days. The camp received a resoundingly positive response. Surprisingly, females visited the camp in the majority. The presence of women in considerable numbers suggested an understanding of Kashmiri women’s health care needs, sensitivity to the medical needs of families and their members, and widening the role of women in Kashmiri households and as responsible citizens. https://twitter.com/BetterHope_NGO/status/1523306516136087553?s=20 )
